Im HTP-Rechenzentrum fand eine Präsentation zum Thema „Umzug in die Cloud“ im Rahmen eines von htp und Hannover IT getragenen IT-Business-Cub-Events statt. Vorgestellt und vorgeführt wurden unter anderem die Christmann-Produkte RECS und LECS, aber auch die Deduplizierungsappliance DEDUPE wurde gezeigt.

Der Einsatz der hochauflösenden HDX-Technologie von Citrix (Remotezugriff mit HD-Qualität) wurde ebenso live gezeigt wie auch das Rendern von Architekturbildern mit einem Cluster aus 10 LECS-Systemen.

Auch wenn es wegen des großen Andrangs etwas eng im Saal wurde, war es  nach Meinung von Besuchern und Veranstalter ein gelungener und sehr informativer Nachmittag, der auch den Auftakt für ein Kompetenzteam „Regio-Cloud“ ermöglicht hat.

Abgerundet wurde das Ganze durch eine Besichtigung des zertifizierten besonders sicheren Rechenzentrums von htp in Ahlten.

Hannover IT

Das erste RECS-System wurde an im Juni an die Hochschule Ostfalia in Wolfenbüttel ausfgeliefert. Dort wird es von mehreren Fachgruppen genutzt, die es u.a. im Bereich der Simulation einsetzen.

Das Projekt Ressourcen-Effizienter-Cluster-Server (RECS) wurde als BMWi-Erfolgsprojekt ausgezeichnet. Im Rahmen des Programmes Zentrale Innovationsförderung Mittelstand (ZIM) des Bundeswirtschaftsministeriums wurde das Kooperations_Projekt RECS (Ressourcen-Effizienter Cluster-Server unter mehreren tausend ZIM-Projekten als Erfolgsbeispiel Nr. 25 ausgezeichnet. Das freut neben dem Paderborn Center for Parallel Computing (PC²) auch die Fachgruppe Schaltungstechnik des Heinz Nixdorf Institutes in Paderborn und natürlich auch die beteiligten Entwickler aus dem Hause Christmann. Erste Module des RECS-Konzeptes sind schon lieferbar.

ZIM-Erfolgsbeispiel

Der innovativste Hersteller von IT-Systemen in Deutschland stellt den aktuellen Entwicklungsstand von RECS vor. Das vom Bundeswirtschaftsministerium noch bis Juni 2010 im Rahmen des ZIM-Programmes (Zentrale Innovationsförderung Mittelstand) geförderte Entwicklungsprojekt RECS (Resource Efficient Cluster Server) wird zusammen mit dem Paderborner Uni-Institut PC² (Paderborn Center for Parallel Computing) und der Fachgruppe Schaltungstechnik des Heinz Nixdorf Institutes der Uni Paderborn durchgeführt. Das ursprüngliche Projektziel war die Entwicklung eines "Supercomputers für den Mittelstand". Mittlerweile könnte dieser Supercomputer auch über den Mittelstand hinaus von Interesse sein: "Es reicht wahrscheinlich ein einziger Schrank, vollgestopft mit den leistungsfähigsten RECS 710-Modulen (12 x XEON-Nehalem Quadcore und 500 GB RAM pro Höheneinheit), um einen (unteren) Platz in der TOP-500-Liste der weltweiten Supercomputer-Spitze zu erreichen. Mit zwei Schränken ist man auf jeden Fall dabei", sagt Wolfgang Christmann, Geschäftsführer von Christmann Informationstechnik.

Christmann, the IT manufacturers from Lower Saxony known for resource efficient innovative products, present their first deduplication solution at this years CebIT. The still relatively new method of deduplication is mainly used in the backup area. A young German team of developers with renowned storage experts has integrated a highly efficient deduplication software in very high-performance hardware. In the process, time critical search structures are mapped to interconnected SSDs thereby avoiding slow hard disk access.

Christmann, the manufacturer from Lower Saxony present their new Media Center at the Cebit 2010. Emerging out of the compact and energy efficient TEO-X series of universal systems, this appliance comes with its own fresh design and a new name: TEO-Media one.

Christmann informationstechnik is once again represented at this years Cebit. The RECS Supercomputer which was presented as a demonstrator last year, has received some quite spectacular further development and is now on its way to becoming a turnkey cloud computing solution. The DEDUP backup appliance which allows exceptionally memory efficient archiving of data will also be presented. The expenditure for cost intensive professional storage systems can be reduced to as little as 10%. An innovation for the consumer sector the new Media Center TEO Media One will be unveiled at the Cebit. In addition, the TEO Media One can be seen on the Microsoft stand in Hall 4 as an exclusive living room home media solution.

Mit dem nur 129 mm x 80 mm x 44 mm großem TEO-XXS präsentiert Christmann Informationstechnik den nächsten Minimalisierungsschritt in seiner Produktlinie. Hierbei dürfte es sich um das wohl kleinste Server- bzw. PC-System weltweit handeln. Trotz seiner geringen Größe lässt sich das Gerät mit einer 320 GB Festplatte und maximal 2 GB DDR2-RAM bestücken. Angeboten wird das System sowohl mit dem Intel Atom Z510 mit 1,1 GHz als auch mit dem Z530 mit 1,6 GHz. Als Standardbetriebssysteme werden Ubuntu-Server und der Windows 2008 Storage-Server angeboten. Auch Ubuntu-Desktop, Windows XP und Windows 7 sind möglich. Mit Server 2008 wurde im aktivierten Energiesparmodus ein Leerlauf-Wert (idle) von nur 6,5 Watt gemessen. Bei voller Belastung können es mit der 1,6 GHz-Variante auch 11 Watt sein.
Das Gerät ist komplett passiv gekühlt - also geräuschlos. Durch seine IP54-Schtuzklasse (staub- und spritzwassergeschützt) kann es ggf. auch in rauen Umgebungen eingesetzt werden. Das in schwarz eloxiertem Aluminium gestaltete Gerät macht allerdings auch auf dem Schreibtisch eine gute Figur.

Christmann presents the HandyPC with Google operating system Android at LinuxTag 2009 in Berlin. The HandyPC, which was developed by the partner company ROAD, will be offered under the name TEO-Mobile by Christmann informationstechnik. Christmann will mostly take care of the further development and adaptation of Android.
Also presented in Berlin: The new server and storage series LESS (Low Energy Server & Storage). The new line of products extends Christmanns spectrum of solutions with extremely powerful and energy-efficient server systems and storage systems with a huge storing capacity. A first energy-efficient NAS with 48 TB storing capacity and RAID 6 will be presented in Berlin.

Deutsche Umwelthilfe awards the ecoIT prize to the Elementary school Mengendamm for the adjustment of the computer room to efficient compact computers. The modernization prearranged and realized by Christmann Informationstechnik saves nearly 60 percent energy per workstation and upgrades the conditions of work.

The "Ressource-efficient Cluster Server" is developed in collaboration with the University of Paderborn. It combines 20 CPUs in one rack unit, which allows a maximum value of 200 Gigaflop/s. With an aspire energy-efficiency of more than 300 Megaflop/s per watt, the RECS is in the international top flight of energy-efficient super computers.

Innovatives Niedersachsen

Newsman of various media decorated 2nd Generation TEO-X with the “CeBIT-PreView Award”. Tis commendation for the “Innovation of CeBIT 2009” enjoys special denotation, because the voting covers the whole bandwidth of the newsman of the biggest press event before CeBIT. This means specialized, financial and economical media as well as public press.

The company christmann informationstechnik medien GmbH & Co. KG is also represented at this years CeBIT. The worlds biggest IT exhibition takes place in Hannover from 3rd till 8th march. Even more then last year “Green IT” is picked out as a central theme und of course TEO - Thin Economic Office is present with innovative and resource efficient products.

There is a special meeting of the german Windows NT User Group (NTUG) in premises of Christmann Informationstechnik + Medien GmbH & Co. KG. on Friday the 6th February.
The event has a time frame from 10 am. to 3 pm.. Afterwards you can take part in a tour through the cavities of Christmann Informationstechnik if you are interested.
Main topic of the meeting is Windows 7. But additional issues like the automated intallation of an SBS-/Exchange-/Blackberryserver, which will be presented by us, appear on the agenda.

TEO-Village, the in-house exhibition of the company Christmann Informationstechnik, was also a complete success this year. Over 500 visitors wanted to catch up infomations about energy-efficient TEO products and IT solutions. The number of visitors of the last year was clearly excelled with it.

The company Christmann Informationstechnik is now an official "Microsoft Gold Certified Partner". The partners are selected by Microsoft on grounds of proven skills in tests degree graduated by the company’s staff. Microsoft reviews the knowledge annually.

TEO-Village, the yearly in-house exhibition of the company Christmann Informationstechnik, will take place in Ilseder Hütte 10c in Ilsede on Friday the 21st and Saturday the 22nd November this year. Several energy-saving TEO products and business solutions will be presented. The exhibition will start Friday at 1 pm. In contrast to TEO-Village in the last year, you can also take a closer look on TEO products on Saturday from 10 am till 4 pm.

Christmann Informationstechnik will present the TEO concept at the IFA Berlin, the worldwide largest fair for consumer electronics. You can take a closer look on TEO-X media and the other products of the TEO concept. The newest member of the TEO family will appear in public for the first time.

TEO-X media is a multimedia center for the living room. It is a complete PC especially designed for watching TV and DVDs. In spite of its small box the TEO-X media has everything a multimedia PC needs. In addition it works extremely quiet and can be used for space-saving applications. The provided remote control allows using it easily from the sofa.
TEO-X media has a more powerful base configuration then TEO-X power and is delivered with a TV card. Therefore it offers multiple differing interfaces.

The current version of TEO-Rack consumes about 50 watt at full load only. As the first provider the INTERNET AG from Frankfurt relies on TEO-Rack.
The pre-version of TEO-Rack was already comprehensively examined by INTERNET AG over serveral month. Stefan Schellenberg, manager of INTERNET AG and CEO of the holding company INTERNIC GmbH disclosed his satisfaction about this test. Caused by that the TEO technology was added to its program as one of three server platform models in the business server sector.

LinuxTag, Europe's leading exhibition on Linux and Open Source takes place from May 28 - 31, 2008 at Berlin's Messezentrum unter dem Funkturm. LinuxTag is Europe's most important event for free and open source software. In 2007, more than 9,000 visitors experienced this unique combination of conferences, tutorials and trade fair.
This year the company Christmann Informationstechnik is also present as an exhibitor (hall 7.2b, stand 216). The TEO concept and the open communication platform openTEO (www.openTEO.org) will be presented.

Each year in spring, when the sun warms and shines, the »Solarfest« takes place in Hannover - already since 1998! The »Solarfest« has become the nationwide unique Infotainment-Event about regenerative energy. Whith information, acitvities and entertainment themed "experience climate protection live!", the »Solarfest« regularly pulls thousands of visitors to the north edge of »Maschsee«. This year the approved event takes place at »Friedrichswall« between »Aegi« and the town hall parallel to the car-free sunday at 18 march from 11am till 6pm.
This time TEO - Thin Economic Office is also present. Suitable for the theme the company »Christmann Informationstechnik« presents the energy-saving TEO concept.

There originates a community at www.openTEO.org from 17 march 2008, which addresses to all prospects of Thin Economic Office (TEO). The objective of this community consists of establishing a communication platform, which provides an opportunity for information interchange and realizing projects conjointly to users as well as developers.
The focus of the hardware basis for developements are the recently developed products of the TEO-X series of the company christmann informationstechnik medien GmbH & Co. KG. This series supplies individual configurability and extensibility with high energy efficiency in mini-PF format.

The TEO-Server was introduced at CeBIT 2007. Reviewes (c't and SPIEGEL online) commended it for its small size and low energy consumption with adequate performance e. g. for usage as a small teminal server.
Caused by mulitple requests Christmann started to invent a rack-version. Meanwhile the first pre-version is produced. It shows the feasibility of a energy efficient system, considering the requirements for a "rackable" design using one rack unit.

CeBIT 2008 takes place in Hannover from 4th till 9th march and TEO is present once again. "Green IT" is one topic this year. If the issue of ecological awareness is broached, TEO may not miss it.

The company Christmann will debut the mini-pc TEO-X at CeBIT 2008. It is part of the TEO-concept (Thin Economic Office), which shows the feasibility of "Green IT".
TEO-X is a mini computer (7.5 x 7.5 x 4.9 inches), which offers a full-fledged PC workplace including operation system and basic software configuration starting at 299 € incl. VAT.
